What Do Rodents Look Like?
Rodents include a vast array of species, but Norway rats and house mice are the most prevalent in residential settings. Mice are typically 2.5 to 4 inches in length (this does not include their tails), with soft fur and huge ears. Rats, on the other hand, are heavier, larger, and feature blunt snouts and thicker tails.
Droppings are often the first indication of rodent invasion; rice-sized for mice and capsule-shaped for rats. Chew marks on baseboards, wires, or food packaging reveal their presence as well.
